Billy the Beekeeper is located in Southern Maryland. Billy started with 3 colonies about 13 years ago, and now runs over 300 colonies. He is widely considered one of the most skilled beekeepers in the Washingotn, DC Metro area. All of his bees come from removals or swarms located in the Maryland and DC area.
Billy started small! He was hooked when he was asked to remove a colony that was living in a chimney of a house slated for demolition. Finding bees in the wild is like entering another universe that is also a part of our own: he has been exploring it ever since.
Billy's honey has won many ribbons over the years! He is a frequent Blue Ribbon (first prize) winner, and has even been awarded Grand Champion ribbon for honey and wax at the Maryland State Fair.
